Is GiftCertificates.ca closing?
Yes. GiftCertificates.ca will close on September 30, 2026. The program has been active since 2019, and we've made the decision to wind it down.
When is the last day I can place an order?
September 15, 2026 is the last day to place a new order, so we have time to process and fulfill it before the program closes. Orders placed after this date may not be processed.
What happens to gift cards I've already purchased?
Gift cards already issued and delivered to you keep their value and can be redeemed directly with the issuing retailer according to that retailer's terms — this website's closure does not affect the card itself.
What happens to my GiftPass account balance?
If you hold a GiftPass balance, you'll need to redeem it by September 15th, 2026.
Will I still be able to reach customer support?
Yes. Our team is available to help with existing orders, questions, and issues through [insert public support email/phone]. Support will continue at least through the program's close on September 30, 2026, and for a reasonable period afterward for outstanding issues.
I'm a corporate/bulk client — does this affect me differently?
Yes — corporate and bulk purchase clients have received direct notice with specific account details and deadlines. If you're a corporate client and haven't received this notice, please contact giftpass@shift4.com.
Why is the program closing?
We're consolidating our gift card offerings as part of a broader business decision. We're committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for everyone who's used GiftCertificates.ca.
What if the gift card I want isn't available?
As we wind down, some retailer gift cards may run low or become unavailable from our suppliers before September 15. If your first choice is out of stock, please select another available card — we can't guarantee every card face will be in stock through the last order date.
